Try a question from World 1.

It's one of the questions in World 1, Level 1, word for word. Pick an answer and lock it in. Right or wrong, you get the reason, the same way the app does it.

Words in Context · World 1 · Level 1 · The Dewfield

On the opening day of the new Corvell Public Library, every chair was taken, children sat cross-legged in the aisles, and a line stretched out the front door and down the block. The building was, in a word, ______.

Which choice completes the text with the most logical and precise word or phrase?

Rule first. Then you prove it.

Real screens from the app, not mockups.

  • A lesson card titled Central Ideas and Details, ending with Bugsy's rule: find the sentence the passage can't live without.
A Deep Dive level opens with the rule, short enough to keep in your head.
  • A Words in Context question answered correctly with packed, and an explanation under the heading Nailed it.
Then you use it. Every answer comes with the reason, right or wrong.
  • The back of the flashcard Strident: loud, harsh and forceful, with an On the SAT note and four grading buttons from Again to Easy.
Three decks of twelve words a day. You grade each card and the app decides when it comes back.
  • The World 1 map, The Dewfield, with the first level First Light open and the next levels locked.
Pass a level and the path moves on. World 2 opens when World 1 is clear.

What's inside, counted.

Bugsy reacts, so the screens can stay calm.

Scores, timers and progress bars stay plain and readable. The feelings go to a small purple beetle, who has a face for most things that happen to you.

  • Waving

Says hi when a level starts.

  • Thinking

Hands you the rule before the questions.

  • Sad

When you miss one, or quit a deck halfway.

  • Celebrating

    Level cleared. Streak lit.

  • Asleep

Today's board is done. Go do something else.

Try leaving a deck halfway. You'll feel it.

Straight answers.

Is it free?

The download is free, but studying needs a Study Bug Pro plan, billed monthly or yearly. The App Store shows the price in your currency before you pay, and you can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.

Will it raise my score?

We won't promise a number, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What the app does promise is a board you can finish today, aimed at the skills you keep missing.

Are these real SAT® questions?

All 3,247 are written for Study Bug in the style of the digital SAT®. None are College Board questions, and Study Bug is not affiliated with the College Board.

Do I need an account?

No email, no password. The app gives your install a random ID and backs your progress up to it. There are no ads and we don't sell data.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. Study Bug is for iPhone for now.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, go to the Bugsy tab, then Settings, then Delete account. It erases your progress and everything we keep about you. The support page walks through it step by step.

Anything else? The support page has the rest, and a real person reads the email.

Board cleared? Bugsy goes to sleep.

Tomorrow there's a new board, aimed at whatever you slipped on today. That's the deal: clear it, then close the app.
