Terms of Use
Version 1.1 · effective 1 November 2026
The short version
These terms are the agreement between you and Alp Kumbasar, who makes Study Bug. In short: Study Bug is a study tool, not a promise of a score. A Study Bug Pro plan gives you the full app and renews through your Apple ID until you cancel. Nectar and Amber are for use inside the app only. Be kind, don't copy our questions, and write to us if something is wrong.
Downloaded from the App Store? Your licence to use the app is Apple's Standard EULA, and these terms add to it.
1.Agreeing to these terms
By downloading or using Study Bug you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. "We", "us" and "our" mean Alp Kumbasar, an individual developer in Türkiye.
2.Who can use Study Bug
You must be at least 13 years old to use Study Bug. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has read these terms with you and agrees to them for you, including any purchase. Parents and guardians are responsible for purchases made by the young people they allow to use the app.
3.What Study Bug is, and is not
Study Bug is a practice and study app for the SAT®. It gives you original practice questions, flashcards, a daily plan, practice tests and progress tracking. The practice questions are written for Study Bug in the style of the digital SAT. They are not official College Board questions.
- We do not guarantee any score, score increase, admission or other result. How you do depends on many things outside the app.
- Score ranges in the app are estimates from your practice answers. They are not official scores and may differ from your real result.
- We work hard to get every question and explanation right, but mistakes can happen. If you spot one, tell us and we will fix it.
- We may add, change or remove features and content over time.
4.Your account
Study Bug creates an account for your install without an email address or password, and backs your progress up to it. Because nothing else identifies it, deleting the app or moving to a new phone may start a new account, and your earlier progress may not come with you. Keep your device secure: anyone using it can use your account.
5.Study Bug Pro subscriptions
Using Study Bug requires an active Study Bug Pro plan. The plans, their prices and billing periods are shown before you buy. When you buy through the App Store:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- Your plan renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your plan in your Apple ID settings. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Apple handles billing and refunds under its own terms. To ask for a refund, use Apple's report a problem page. If you are in the EU or the UK, Apple's terms may also give you 14 days to cancel a purchase.
- If we change the price of a plan, Apple tells you in advance and you can cancel before the new price applies.
Study Bug Pro gives you immediate access to digital content. If you are a consumer in Türkiye, you agree that access starts as soon as you buy, and you acknowledge that under the Distance Contracts Regulation the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content delivered instantly. This does not affect any refund Apple offers or any right you have under the law where you live.
Test versions of the app, such as TestFlight builds, may use a simulated store. Purchases in a simulated store say so on screen and charge no money.
6.Nectar, Amber and other items
Nectar is earned by studying. Amber is bought in the Amber store. Both, and the items you get with them (such as outfits, heart refills and app icons), are part of the app. When you get them, you receive a limited, personal licence to use them in Study Bug.
- They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be sold, traded or moved to another account.
- Amber you buy does not expire. It is used up when you spend it, and is not refundable except where the law or Apple's refund policy says otherwise.
- Resetting your progress in Settings resets Nectar, XP and streaks. It does not touch your Amber. Items that came with a one-time bundle can be restored with Restore purchases.
- The Amber price of an item is shown before you spend. A price change never affects items you already have.
- If we stop offering Amber for sale, we will give reasonable notice and let you use the Amber you bought.
7.Using Study Bug fairly
When you use Study Bug, you agree not to:
- Copy, scrape, publish, sell or share our questions, explanations, flashcards or artwork outside the app.
- Use the app, or anything from it, to build or train a competing product or an AI model.
- Reverse engineer, break or get around the app's security, purchases or limits, except where the law allows it.
- Use cheats, bots or tricks to earn XP, Nectar, Amber or streaks.
- Put anything unlawful, hateful or harmful into the parts of the app where you can write, such as your own flashcards or your name.
8.Our content and your content
The app, its questions, explanations, flashcards, mascot Bugsy, artwork, animations and design belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable licence to use them in the app for your own study while these terms apply.
You keep ownership of what you write, such as your own flashcards. You give us permission to store, back up and show it to you so the app can work.
9.SAT® and other trademarks
SAT® is a trademark registered by the College Board, which is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, this product.
Study Bug is an independent product. It is not made, sponsored or approved by the College Board, and Bluebook is also a College Board trademark. Apple, App Store and TestFlight are trademarks of Apple Inc. Firebase and Google are trademarks of Google LLC.
10.Apple terms
If you got Study Bug from the App Store, your licence to use the app is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA), and these terms add to it. If the two conflict about that licence, the Standard EULA wins. You may use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store's usage rules allow, including Family Sharing where it applies.
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content, for support and maintenance, and for any claim about it, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance and intellectual property claims. If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; beyond that Apple has no warranty obligation. You must also follow the terms of any third party you use with the app, such as your mobile carrier. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You confirm you are not in a country under US embargo and not on a US list of restricted parties.
11.Disclaimers
We provide Study Bug as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will always work, be free of errors, keep your data forever or lead to any particular result. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that the law does not let us exclude.
12.Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a lost opportunity or lost data, and our total liability to you for any claim about Study Bug is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or 100 US dollars. These limits do not apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, to fraud, to harm caused by our intent or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow them.
13.Ending the agreement
You can stop using Study Bug at any time by deleting your account in Settings or deleting the app. Neither cancels a subscription: cancel it in your Apple ID settings. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we stop running Study Bug, in which case we will give reasonable notice where we can. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as trademarks, disclaimers and limits on liability, continue after the agreement ends.
14.Changes to these terms
We only change these terms for a good reason: a change in the law, in the app's features or prices, or in how we run Study Bug. We update the version and effective date above, and if a change matters to you we tell you in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept it, you can stop using the app and cancel your plan before then; if you are in the EU or the UK and the change works against you, you can also end the agreement free of charge within 30 days of it. If you keep using Study Bug after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
15.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Please write to us first so we can try to solve any problem together.
- If you are a consumer in Türkiye, you may take a dispute to the consumer arbitration committee (tüketici hakem heyeti) or consumer court for your area, within the limits set each year under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502.
- If you live in another country, you keep the protection of the consumer laws of that country that cannot be waived, and you may bring a claim in its courts.
- Otherwise, the courts of Istanbul, Türkiye, have jurisdiction.
16.General
If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer these terms to someone else; we may transfer them to a new owner of Study Bug, who must honour them. These terms, the Privacy Policy and, for App Store downloads, Apple's Standard EULA are the whole agreement between you and us about Study Bug.
